Reef Check HQ Looking For Volunteer Administrative Assistant

Administrative Assistant

Seeking 1-2 volunteer Administrative Assistant(s) to help with the day-to-day running of an exciting environmental nonprofit, the Reef Check Foundation. Reef Check is a volunteer organization dedicated to the conservation of reef ecosystems worldwide. We train certified scuba divers in scientific methods so they can monitor their local reefs, use that data to inform good marine management and government policies, and help educate the public on the worldwide reef crisis. We’re headquartered in the Los Angeles area and have programs in California and numerous tropical countries. This is cutting edge “citizen science”, and we need the help of 1-2 volunteers to keep it running smoothly.

Specifics:

– Unpaid position
– To start ASAP
– Can be 2 part-time or 1 full-time position
– Regular office hours (9a-5p)
– 6 month commitment preferred

Duties and Responsibilities include:

– General clerical – eg answering phones, filing
– Maintain office supplies – track and order as needed
– Prepare mailings
– Word processing and data entry
– Assist preparations for annual gala fundraiser

Qualifications:

– Strong oral and written communication skills
– Self-starter and can work with minimal supervision
– Proficient with Microsoft Windows, Word, Excel
