A Big Welcome to the Newest EcoDivers and Trainers on the Big Island of Hawai'i!
Aloha! After almost a 10 year dormancy in Hawai'i, Reef Check is very happy to welcome the newest Trainers, as well as EcoDivers, on the Big Island. Reef Check Foundation’s Dania Trespalacios and Jan Freiwald teamed up with Reef Check Malaysia’s Julian Hyde to conduct two Reef Check Trainings and to mentor the new teams as they begin to develop monitoring and education programs and to collaborate with local management authorities.

This video was made during Blue Corner Marine Research’s week-long reef health monitoring program at Blue Corner Dive in Bali, Indonesia. Five Years: A Reflection at ERIC
Congratulations to the Environmental Research Institute Charlotteville (ERIC) for celebrating its five year anniversary. Reef Check’s partner in Tobago has achieved rapid growth in its personnel capacity and expertise, and has gained respect as a voice in northeast Tobago. ERIC’s journey was not easy, but it will always be remembered that its success began with Reef Check five years ago.

Colombia’s Corales de Paz Completes First Survey of Providencia
Corales de Paz completed a survey expedition to Providencia, Colombia, in the Caribbean, marking the first trip to the island since the relaunch of Reef Check Colombia in 2017. This unique island still conserves its natural wealth, thanks to the citizens that carefully guard their resources.
