Campaign Launched to Rescue Coral
As increasing temperatures threaten the world’s coral reefs, there is a ray of hope. Reef Check has partnered with NOAA to identify those hardier coral populations that have withstood temperature extremes, in the hopes of saving the rest.

Reef Check Delivers in Haiti

The generosity of Reef Check supporters comes to the rescue in hurricane-battered Haiti. Local fishermen’s cooperatives helped us to distribute much-needed rice and solar lamps to grateful villagers, and we also checked out how the reefs fared in the storm.

Historic Community-Based Reef Survey a First in Oman

The Sultanate of Oman has just witnessed a historic landmark — the first-ever community-based coral reef survey using local citizen scientists. Hopes are high that this is just the beginning of local involvement, and that Oman’s beautiful reef communities can be well managed and conserved before it’s too late.
