- Creating a version of the Year of the Reef Song using instruments and musical arrangements, e.g. reggae, rock, or local style
- Singing/filming at a place of meaning to your group, e.g. beach, temple, historical location
- Dressing in attire that celebrates local culture or that represents your music genre/style
- Singing in local language(s) or dialect(s)

Form a group of three or more friends |

Choose an adult (e.g. teacher, parent) as Group Coordinator (GC). This person will help coordinate your group, collect signed form , and submit your group’s video. If your group wins, the money will be disbursed through your GC. |

Download the Year of the Reef lyrics. If the lyrics are not available in the language of your preference, you will have to translate them |

Decide what music style to use. Here your group has two options. One is to sing along with the instrumental soundtrack ; the other one is to create your own version of the Song. |

Have your GC collect signed release forms from each person appearing in the video. In the case of a minor, the form must be signed by a parent or legal guardian |

Plan and practice your group performance |

Record your best group performance |

Identify an educational activity toward which your group will apply the cash prize if your video wins |

Through the RCF website, have your GC submit your group’s video with a maximum file size of 100MB, and a maximum length of four minutes. We prefer you record in .avi format at a resolution of XYZ if possible. Other acceptable formats are .mov, .wmv or .mpg. |
