What will Reef Check California training involve?
The training time of a Reef Check California training generally involves 2 days of classroom and pool time followed by 2-3 days of field work and testing. During this training you will learn the necessary species identification and survey methodology needed to complete a Reef Check California survey. All trainees will receive comprehensive training materials including the Reef Check California training manual, species identification underwater cards, species identification flash cards, and all equipment needed to perform surveys (transect line, underwater slate, etc.). All scuba and dive equipment is provided by you the volunteer.
