Reef Check is a non-profit charitable organization that relies on sponsorship from outside sources for all funding of its global projects. Sponsors provide RC with free or discounted boat use, airfares, dive equipment, hotel accommodation, cash donations for general operation support and educational outreach. Reef Check is a global network of thousands of volunteers who carry out the RC program in over 90 countries and territories worldwide. Without the dedication of the RC "family" members who have donated their time and energy to this program since 1997, it would not be possible to monitor hundreds of reefs each year. It is because of this commitment and perseverance that RC has become the largest, community-based ecological monitoring program in the world.
